禁用新疆棉？我国压榨新疆人民？怎么可能？！持续发酵的新疆棉花事件引起了中国社会的高度关注，下面就让我们来看看该事件的前因后果吧！

Last week, Xinjiang cotton has become a hot spot in China.  Words like" supporting Xinjiang cotton" showed up on the micro blog top search.

J:上周新疆棉成为了全中国的热点，“支持新疆棉花”的字眼出现在了微博热搜。

So what is exactly going on about the Xinjiang cotton? Let me get this straight for you. The cause of this event is that H&M issued a statement that they’ll stop using Xinjiang cotton, and claimed that they would have to use globally third parties certified cotton only.

L:那么新疆棉事件到底是怎么一回事呢？让我带你捋一捋。事件的起因是H&M发布了一则停止使用新疆棉花的声明，声称只使用通过全球认证的第三方采购棉花。

And that certification must be the BCI, aka the Better Cotton Initiative. And BCI suspended the issuance of cotton licenses in Xinjiang for the difficulty of carrying out smoothly investigations in local area.

J:这个认证就是BCI，全称是瑞士良好棉花发展协会。而BCI暂停在新疆发放棉花许可证，因为难以在当地展开可信尽职的调查。

This is nonsense of course.

L:这事必然是胡扯

Western media have been spreading rumors about China and ruining the public image of China. In recent years, now that the conflict has become more fierce, they don’t even disguise their malice anymore.

J:在我们看不见的地方西方媒体一直，传播谣言，抹黑中国的形象。近几年因为冲突愈发激烈，他们甚至不再掩饰他们的恶意。

They spitefully say the people in Xinjiang are severely oppressed, that they work like slaves and are unpaid. Even Xinjiang people themselves consider these words came out of no where.

L:他们口中的新疆人民受到严重的压迫，像奴隶一样工作，被拖欠工资。新疆人看到都表示莫名其妙。

Foreign minister Hua responded directly," In the past 40 years, the population of Xinjiang Uygur has increased from 5.5 million to 12.8 million, and the life expectancy has increased from 30 to 72 years, and the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, including Uygur people, enjoy the rights conferred by the Chinese Constitution. One of the most successful human rights stories is that people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang enjoy stability,  security, development and progress."

J:外交部发言人华春莹直接回应：“40年来，新疆维吾尔族的人口从550万增长到了1280万，人均寿命从30岁提高到了72岁，包括维吾尔族在内的新疆各族民众，依法享有中国宪法和法律赋予的各项权利。中国新疆地区各族人民享有稳定、安全、发展、进步，这是最为成功的人权故事之一。”

Compared with that, China's Li Ning had proudly written Xinjiang cotton on the tag long before.

L:相比之下，中国李宁早就在吊牌上自豪地写上了新疆棉。

As a Chinese we should help with each other and face those who infringes on national sovereignty altogether. When it comes to events like these, we Chinese can always unite all over the country. This is also why we can effectively control the epidemic of COVID-19.

J:同为中国人就应该相互帮助，共同面对侵犯国家主权的敌人。真正遇到问题的时候，中国人总是能够团结起来，全国上下一条心。这也是我们能有效控制新冠疫情的原因。

And you know what? Cotton can also be used to make notes.

L:你知道吗？棉花还可以用来做纸币。

According to CCTV news, the main ingredient of RMB is cotton. And according to CCTV Records Channel, RMB 's main raw material is 95% cotton and about 3% wood,  as well as other chemical materials. Even only 0.08 millimeter thick paper can achieve extraordinary resistance. This is also the reason why the RMB can be used after being washed carelessly.

J:据央视新闻，人民币的主要成分来自棉花。据中央电视台纪录频道称，人民币主要原料为95%的棉和约3%的木材，以及其它化学材料，哪怕0.08毫米的厚度也能达到非凡耐度。这是人民币不小心水洗还能用的原因。

China is not only trying to get better, but also trying to help other countries to be better places. China's diplomacy has also been adhering to the concept of peace all along the time, and striving to maintain world peace. This is the country’s magnanimity! However western countries, which only care about their won profit, always blatantly suppress the development of other countries.

L:中国不止自己在努力变好，也在想着帮助其他国家共同进步。中国外交也一直秉持着以和为贵的理念，努力维护世界和平的局面。什么叫大国气度啊！而西方各国却在为了自己的利益，明目张胆地压制其他国家的发展。

China's Xinjiang cotton is pure, no rumors shall be allowed. Although the Chinese market is large, yet we will never welcome any malicious individuals or brand or country.

J:中国的新疆棉花洁白无瑕，不容泼脏水。中国市场虽大，但不欢迎任何恶意中伤者！

As a Chinese dressed in Chinese clothes, we use our Xinjiang cotton to embroider our beautiful country.

L:身为中国人，身着中国衣，

用我们的新疆棉，绣出我们的锦绣中华。
